ITS HERE 🥹 I recently had the pleasure of spending two weeks at @elevationgallery in Canmore as their Artist in Residence. I travelled daily to their space where I was afforded the ability to work on a large scale depiction of the iconic Mount Assiniboine, reflected over Lake Magog and set amongst a classic autumn scene of golden larches and the first snows of the season. As someone who works from a home studio space, the residency was valuable opportunity to create in a different setting, experiment with new techniques and go big! Simply stepping back and taking in my work from a different perspective was hugely refreshing, as was the ability to experiment with the combination of pallet knife and butane torch on much larger expanses of material than I’m used to. Here is a small snippet of my process!
